Farmville: How I Went from Zero to Level 23 in 10 Days

A week or so ago, I met Farmville thanks to my sister. I recall with vivid detail and somewhat shame that I said, "I am too busy to be bothered with a silly game." I am now eating my words.

I was already a Facebook fan for some years. Well, how many could it be considering that the whole Internet thing is only some more than a decade, ten years. Well, anyway, blog, I signed up for Farmville as you know. I described my excitement at having a mere 1,000 coins. It's like an old fashioned photo album. I see that moment clear as looking eyeballs through a Lalique Crystal bird.

Today, I have 70,000 coins and a really cool farm with cows, pigs, chickens, goose, ducks, horse and pony, plus a whole lotta pink stuff. I have a pink mansion, pink cherry trees, pink roses and even a pink tracker. Whew! I am breathless. Hey, blog, I even have Bailey on my farm.

I went from Level  5 to Level 22 in 10 days. My sister (who is double ahead of me) has a fabulosa farm, much more huge than mine. When she saw me at Level 5, she praised me. [I love praise] At 19, she says, "How did you do it?" Well, blog, I am not sure. When I figure it out, I'll know how to play Farmville. And that's the beauty of it. You don't even have to read any directions. You don't have to know anything. It's intuitive. It's like trial and error, without the error part. You learn as you go. The more you play, the bigger you build your farm, the more you learn and the more successful you are as a farmer. Neat. [Gad, I can't believe I said, Neat]

I work in front of the computer all day, so I installed the handy dandy Farmville Browser Bar. I do not have to be logged into Farmville to see from my clever Browser Bar when I can collect fuel for my tracker and I can also see when it's time to harvest my crops… and get more coins. Really easy. Really cool. And a face-grinnin' smile.

I really love the feeling of growing things. Yes… it's competitive, because you can see what other farmers are doing. You can even visit other farms. That's how I can see what a really wonderful farmer my sis is.

It interrupts my work only very slightly. Since I have the handy Browser Bar, I don't even have to keep track of when my crops are fully grown.

Beside being a bit competitive, and other than it's a feel-good tingle to grow things, it challenging. Very challenging. This silly game keeps me sharp. It gives me a pinch of fun that I enjoy. A rewarding side benefit is that I have discovered how to sharpen my organization skills. The farmland is square, so I must keep my buildings, animals and plots of seeded soil in order. Otherwise, I waste valuable space; space that makes me harvest money [coin].

After only 10 days of honing my organizational skills, I re-organized my business, my websites, my marketing, the folders in my email, my office, bookshelves, closets and even some room furniture in our home. Whew! That sounds like a lot, but it really wasn't. It feels good to be more organized. I enjoy Farmville. It's not just a silly game. It is more than fun. It makes an impact in many ways. Thanks to my big sister who has always looked out for me, and who I probably pestered beyond her patience, I play this game with new eyes.

In fact, I enjoy it so much, I have been on a campaign to invite family and friends to join me.

This evening I invited my son who is already on Facebook (who isn't these days) to become my neighbor. Have I no shame. Oh my goodness. I even used my motherly influence to get my son involved in this, "what did I call it" -- a silly little game. Shameful!

Only kidding.

I'm a Level 23 XP (experience) and it took me 10 days to get  there. My farm is packed from border to border, and I have a little over 70,000 coins.

If life were only this simple.

E-I-E-I-O… Goodnight blog.
