Exuberance is the Heart of Happiness

Hallelujah, it's Monday and a fresh, new beginning for this week. That's what so great about a month, even a year. Every 7 days, I get to wash away the woes of last week, and start anew.

Yesiree! Today is a new day and with it comes an exciting opportunity to extract the outcome I want. In my business and in my personal life and with friends and the whole world. Life is good.

Okay, I am not too gloomy, am I? A bit over the top, ya think? Well, sometimes, I wake up and grab life. Other days, it's all I can do to push my feet into my terry cloth slippers and make my way to the coffee pot.

Everyone deserves a fresh start, but for what? Life? Job? Family faux pas? Well, blog, this may surprise you, but… I spell it like this. Hallelujah, it's Monday.

What I love about Monday is that it's the first day after Sunday. Why, do you say, is this significant. Well, I'll tell ya.

I usually close out my duties, whether business or pleasure on Friday afternoon. A lot of people who work at an office, do that. Saturday is pick up day. I pick up things I forgot to do, things I need for the coming week and of course, I use at least 4 hours on Saturday to pick myself up. Hot bath, candles, glass of wine and bubbles. I love Mr. Bubbles.

Then, Sunday. Traditionally, a day of rest, so the bible reminds us. God rested on the seventh day, and for modern society, we've crowned that day, Sunday.

Now, many people, including my honey, think this means that Sunday is the last day of the week, not the beginning of the week like most desktop, wall and printed calendars  display. Hmmm, he may have a point.

Sunday is a day of rest around the old homestead, at our house. Church [not always]. We play hooky, some days. Yes, it is an unjustifiable absence, but… [there's always a but] I ask, do I have to participate in a group congregation for it to be a church attendance? Why can't my home be my church some days? It's certainly a building. It has people. Our home is like a caterpillar… (do you get my meaning here?) No disrespect intended. I am Sunday church-going person, most of my life.

The best part of Sunday done right is Monday… the day before Tuesday.

Monday. It means moon day. Really. It's a day for Angels. It has special days, such as Big Monday, Black Monday, Blue Monday. Cyber Monday [new one] and then of course… what else??? Monday Night Football. I've recently been reminded of the coming of the opening day sporting festivities followed by many football Mondays. [Arugh!]

Today is Monday, blog. I love this day. My day was fantastic! It started with a corn muffin. My son came for a visit. My daughter called. My Bailey had a fun run. My honey smiled all day.

Work was satisfying. The silly game I play felt fun. I did my hair, ate a big bowl of watermelon, and got a text from Stevie, my granddaughter.

It's a bright, beautiful day, even at this the early evening hour. It's over 100 degrees, but good news… our air conditioner sings like an Alaskan Igloo. Cool and chilly.

Blog, I may be over the top, today, with my exuberance, but when I take even a speck of a moment to feel good about life, well, it just makes everything taste yummy.
