Squirrel It Away

Helloooo blog! I am late. Noooo, it wasn't a busy day. On the contrary, it was a very slow, lazy day and I wasted plenty of time doing nothing. Not my normal self, I admit, but nothing needs doing now and then. [seriously]

Here's a quick update. My farm is now at level 52, WOW! I am not even sure how that happened. I simply plant, plow and harvest. I admit I have been focused on mastering crops, but all that does it limit the bushels I can offer my neighbors.

I do have fabulous neighbors. The best. I am having so much fun playing FarmVille. It's rewarding [feeling, not money wise].

Four of my six grandchildren are off to college. My little one started school already [he attends private school]. Steven just got back from vacationing in Florida. Kim is off to Europe in a couple of weeks. Tim is moving his degree in education up (he's a teacher). My honey has improved his golf game and is still working on his handicap. Bailey got new treats and loves 'em. He has discovered a new position to sleep, and he is still an equal-opportunity toy player.

My plan for today was to clean the closets. Real closets, not my mind closets [smile]. Yes, the extra room we call the 'exercise room' has a rebuilt, renovated closet that stores all the office supplies. My honey custom crafted the shelving to fit the various sizes of supplies. Plus, he added a shelf for a TV I watch when I am treadmilling or biking [stationary bike].

The shelves have some how gotten packed with stuff… stuff I don't really need. I think I have old software boxes that used to store CDs of software that are not even sold any longer. They are so out of date. Why oh why am I saving these tired and unneeded boxes. Ugh! I don't even store the CDs in the boxes anymore. That's a whole 'nother story.

On the lower shelves, there is room for big boxes, like a big cardboard box that you might get a case of paper in. But my honey got some lovely, transparent, kinda foggy plastic boxes. They even have a groove so I can put Pendaflex hangers in there if I want. I use these cool hard plastic boxes to store client files that are about a year old. Ya never know when you'll need some piece of info that you made notes on. This might be hogwash thinking!

So, I've decided to stop being a obsessed squirrel and get rid of all this extra stuff… that I will probably never need. It must be purged.

Purging… that is part of clean the closets, but in this case, I simply save too much stuff. It's junk. It's waste. It's hoarding for the sake of maybe, might, what if…

So, away with you, Mr. Junk and welcome Ms. Clean and Organized. Yea! I will not stockpile. I will let go.

Okay, that's going too far, but you get my meaning, blog.

I can even breathe better knowing that my closets will be in apple-pie order! Unfortunately, I didn't get the exercise room closets cleaned out today. It was my plan, but after all, I said it was a nothing day. But it's on the list. I'll get to it another day.

Call me a hoarder no more. Tomorrow, I will not squirrel away unneeded items. How 'bout you, blog? Any treasure trove of stuff you don't need in your house?
