It's an absolutely beautiful day in North Texas, and my honey decided to come home for lunch. How fun is that? He can actually share the lunchtime meal with me, which is not so ordinary. I guess for many couples who have at least one partner who has an out-of-the-house job, it is not so easy to meet up for lunch… especially sitting in the kitchen at home.
If you are lucky enough to have a job today, that's a plus. But traveling more than a short distance from your home is a reality for most that does not provide the time to meet and greet in the middle of the standard workday.
For one thing, the drive time almost always does not allow for the drive to and from home during the lunch break time. And that's if only one works. What if both work? My guess is that there is little to no face time for these couples. So I feel pretty blessed that my honey and I can share morning coffee and lunch and dinner meals. It's great to sit together, eat and chat about the plan for the day, how the day is going, and what happened today.
We did dine today. I loved it. It was great sitting at our kitchen table still blooming with flowers I got from son Tim on Mother's day. Lovely indeed.
Bailey plopped himself down on the floor near our feet. The morning light streamed in the window by the water feature outside. The best part was watching my honey's face, the chitter chatter, and the twinkle in his eyes. You know, these are the moments that really show you what's important in life.
Through struggle, heartache and even enormous sadness, you know you can conquer anything with a basket full of memorable moments like today. Thanks honey.
That's all for today.
