Yesterday was a day of days. Ouch. First, I had a dentist appointment to get crowns on my root canals. But nooooo… to my surprise (not paying attention, I guess) the dentist had to first finish what I thought was previously finished root canals. They get you in the dentist chair when you are gassed up.
So, bright and early at 7am I sat in the dentist chair with no idea that pull and pop was not going to happen. You know, pull off the temporary and pop on the crown. Yeoouuiii, was I surprised.
I am not good with dental work. I am not just one of those people who dislike going to the dentist, but I am terrified. My fault, I guess, for not taking better care of my toothies over the years. A lesson for all. If only I could have a do over… oh well. It is what it is. Teeth, I mean.
One crown would have been a trauma, but I have 3. Yesterday, I did 2 and that was a trial. After the top one, they ran out of cement. Holy cow. I had to go home and come back in two hours and go through the whole experience again. Oh no. Oh no. No No No. But sadly, I had to.
During the first drilling, it felt as if the dentist was a plumber and I was the sink with broken pipes. Ouchy. When I came back for the next crown install, it was double trouble. But I have the best dentist.
Yes, a fab dentist do I have. First, when I was done with dental work for the day, the receptionist and other staffers presented me with a vase full of flowers, mostly roses. How extraordinary!!! What dentist office ever does that??? I was elated. Many thanks for such a sensitive and caring group of people.
Next, my dentist called me on her personal cell at 8 pm to ask how I was doing and reassure me that she was available if I had any discomfort at all. Incredible. She is the best.
That's all for today.
