How to Have Get Togethers that Guests Want to Get Invited To

Every host and hostess want to have a dinner party that guests want to get invited to. It starts with being a guest who people want to invite to their gathering. It is a two-way street after all, isn't it?

A party or "get together" is really about sharing time with those you have a relationship with. It could be a casual or a close relationship. It could be a new one or one you've enjoyed for years and years. A relationship is a precious commodity in life today... because you can't buy love or real friendship.

Yes, it is so true. People in your life are precious. You want to observe the little niceties of life that preserve the bond. Be a nice person and what you get will be equal or better than what you give.

When it comes to the "niceties", it's true that some things change with time. Technology is one change that has an impact on people and our people gatherings and invitations.

For example, should I send an email or text? Should I send "save the date" invitation? (saw this in a movie:)

I do like to send paper invitations, and then follow up with a phone call.

Once (okay, maybe twice) I sent an invitation with little sequins that spilled out when the envelope was opened. Not sure my kids appreciated this that much.

Whether planning a small foursome dinner, or a larger family gathering, remember to "set the scene."  It always brings a smile and makes an awesome memory.
