Well, that's done it. I've completed Chef David's cooking course. I've repeated some lessons, cooked the recipes (except for a couple), and I've discovered something spectacular. Cooking is even more fun when you know what you're doing. Yea, love this.
I'm ready to cook food that makes your eyes bug out and your tongue pop out of your mouth. I've reviewed my 10 mistakes. I've decided that it's okay for a kitchen cook to take a few shortcuts.
Armed with my new-found "cook in the kitchen" know-how, I'll do something I always love to do. I'll invite friends and family to my table to enjoy some of my cookery.
It's dinner for no reason. No special occasion. No big event. I guess you could say that guests will be a guinea pig for my cooking, but I'd rather think of it as a wonderful opportunity to treat the people I know and love to something nice I can do for them.
It will be so much fun planning and making good food memories [now that I can cook more than a handful of recipes]. I'll set the dining table, put on some music and maybe even light candles. I'm planning seven courses, but I may change my mind and go more casual.
I've got a lot more confidence that my kitchen is now a place where I can turn out good healthy food… from start to finish. My cooking lessons have been a real gift.
