This way, you know exactly what your dog is eating. We do both, especially on holidays when our little 110lb. pupppy deserves a tasty meal that celebrates his menu as well as ours. No begging allowed.
Pup won't be consuming meat by-products and preservatives that are in many commercial dog foods.
You can try some of the following to see what your dog likes:
• Ground turkey, chicken meat
• Brown Rice
• Vegetables, such as carrots, peas, green beans and squash
• Oatmeal
* Sweet potato
Avoid onions, garlic, sugary foods and salt. Most nuts (excluding macadamia nuts, which are toxic to your dog)
If you keep your food list simple and are consistent, you find that home cooked meals are an inexpensive way to keep your dog healthy and resistant to disease.
