July 16, 2015, Shootings at a pair of military facilities in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Thursday, left five dead, including four Marines, officials said.
According to Yahoo News, “the shootings began shortly after 10:30 a.m. at a National Guard office in a strip mall on Lee Highway, where the suspect fired from his car, said the FBI. A witness there described hearing as many as 20 shots fired there before the gunman fled. A photo posted to Facebook by a witness shows the door of the office littered with bullet holes.
As if that wasn't enough violence, a shooting attack on a nearby military facility left four marines dead. Three others, including a Chattanooga police officer, were wounded in the shootings. They were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Mayor Andy Berke said at a news conference Thursday afternoon. "This is a nightmare for the city of Chattanooga."
