Memorial Day

Memorial Day is a day to remember those who stood up against evil to preserve, protect and defend the American people, our way of life, our freedom. Our right to be. America.

For many Americans, the feeling of love and loss is so personal, it’s deep inside our hearts. Everyday becomes Memorial Day. But, we set aside this one special day to observe the life of America’s fallen. Publicly. Together. As a nation.

On the last Monday of May each year, “We the People” honor the selfless men and women who died for us. They deserve our utmost respect. Our deepest gratitude. Our resolve to never forget. That’s not all.
In time of trouble and turmoil, we give thanks to God for Americans who step up to defend our freedom.

This is not a day to cry — although some can't help crying. It’s not a day to be alone — although heartbreak can only be known alone. It’s not a day to feel sad — although… missing them is sad.

It’s a day to celebrate their lives lived. The best of the best. The ultimate sacrifice made — for us. All of us.

It’s a patriotic day. A moment to feel what it means to be an American. They showed us. What it meant to each of them and to all of us.

This day, Memorial Day, and every day, we have to remember... Those selfless men and women who died carrying America’s Flag of Freedom. It’s up to each of us to carry our Flag of Freedom forward for them and future generations. We must honor our fallen by continuing their resolve to protect, preserve and defend America.

We must carry our Flag. For all to see. What America meant to each of them and to all of us — United, one Nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all. That’s what it means to be Americans.

The brave who so loved America, the land of the free -- that they stood up against evil to preserve, protect and defend fellow Americans. And our right to be. America.

God bless the best of America this Monday in  May.
