Catholicism: The Cross Necklace

Every day is a holiday
when I live God’s good life
He meant for me.

I’ve worn my Catholic cross practically all my life. I have a gold one with a gold chain in reserve. I wear a silver cross on a silver chain now.

My Honey bought it for me in Santa Fe years ago. So it’s special to me in more ways than one.

To wear a Catholic cross or crucifix necklace is an outward sign of faith and symbolizes gratitude for the sacrifice Jesus made on the Cross. It’s aeminder to me of how Jesus suffered. If I sinned over these past years, I contributed to His suffering. I feel the pain that I caused the Son of God. I am so sorry. It’s important to me to always remember to lead a good life and avoid sin for that reason.

The Catholic Church recognizes the Crucifix. Before a Catholic Mass even begins the Crucifix is carried to the altar in a procession from the rear of the church up the aisle.

After mass, the priest offers a final blessing to the congregation.  The cross is then carried back down the aisle to the rear of the church.

The Catholic Cross or Crucifix on a chain necklace not only outwardly affirms the my faith, but helps me feel blessed and guides how i behave to safeguard my soul.
