Think of your written
plan as a roadmap. Once you have your plan, follow it, and it will be a
lot easier for you to achieve the success you want.
Set
attainable goals when you make your plan, then chart what you're going
to do to accomplish them, how and when.
Be specific, realistic and measurable. Your words should capture your enthusiasm and resolve.
To help you create a useful plan, use the following SMACS®3 formula:
Statement, Measurable, Attainable, Commitment and Success:
Statement - Describe your business, how you're different from your competition, and what your specific goal is.
Measurable - State how long it will take and how you will know when you have reached your goal.
Attainable - State why you believe reaching your goal is possible.
Commitment - State how much of your time and money you will invest to accomplish your goal.
Success - State what you must do to achieve success.
When you have finished writing your plan, you should clearly see how, where, when and why your business makes you money on and off the Internet.
Take time to write your plan each year. Work your plan throughout the year.
Set benchmarks. Measure your progress in terms of numbers. Make adjustments. Keep going. It's a well known statistic that many people give up moments before success is in hand.
Enter your content, price your products, conduct promotions, build traffic and earn customer loyalty. Give your business time to grow. It will. The forecast for Internet sales is HUGE, and you are on the leading edge.
