On September 8, 1892, the Pledge of Allegiance was first published in the juvenile periodical called “The Youth’s Companion.”
This is the original wording:
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands; one nation indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all."
”These few words of our Pledge of Allegiance helped Americans and their children easily remember how and why they have the freedom they enjoy - and protect it. Be loyal to our Republic and our Judeo-Christian values from cradle-to-grave -- birth to birth and generation to generation -- or it could be lost forever.
In 1924, the words “my flag” were replaced with “the flag of the United States of America.”
In 1942, the pledge was officially recognized by the U.S. government.
In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower urged the Congress to legislate that “under God” be added:
On June 14, 1954, in a Joint Resolution amending a section of the Flag Code, Congress created the Pledge of Allegiance recited by most Americans today as follows:
“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
America is a Judeo-Christian country. The phrase "Under God" irepresents one one of our core values.
Our
core values are worth fighting to KEEP. Our laws, regulations, rules...
must protect and reinforce for We the People” the FREEDOM our “First
Citizens” sacrificed everything to establish for us — to keep us free
and safe.
Changes with laws, regulations, rules... that deprive
“We the People” of the FREEDOM our “First Citizens” sacrificed
everything to establish for us — must be rejected.
