"It's twenty years." That's what our son and daughter-in-law were all smiles about as they shared lunch with us a few days ago. This month they celebrate twenty years of marriage.
It seemed like yesterday when their outdoor wedding ceremony was one of the happiest days in memory. Young they were, full of hope for life to come. I always knew that this couple would be among the longest of marrieds. It's 20 years already and I am right. Never have I even heard a whisper of disagreement. Never a harsh word in 20 years. What I've witnessed is pure affection. Adoring eyes. Loving talk. No repair sign hung for this young couple destined for the "married for life" party.
I am so proud of these two. No mother could want more from such a loving son, husband and father. Steven is the motor that keeps me breathing. Tara is a prize. Considerate and a completely caring one I love so much. Like a precious daughter she is.
Together, these two wonderful young people make music. I mean a concert that blooms notes wafting into the heavens for newlyweds to see, hear and follow the good example. Such pride I have. My heart fills with happiness. My face turns up and eyes smile, mouth smiles, looking to and whispering thanks to God for this union He caused and blessed.
Well, a mother does get to be a bit gooey and slobbery, over joyed at the growing of her son she raised so well. I am so blessed I cannot fully express. I know he and she knows. I know they know. And I know too of they for me. How lucky am I? Thank you God.
Today, I pray for these who I love so much as they celebrate and travel some to share this time alone. Off on the road they go. To sunshine and beaches. Safe journey my children. Safe journey. You deserve so much. Best of life. Golden. Have fun. Come home safely to share multiplied happiness for many many years to come. This is my wish and prayer for you the good of good. I love you so much.
There is but one best way to celebrate your wedding anniversary. Together. That is easy to say. Easy to do. Easy to be. You and you. Celebrate together. No gift boxed or bowled can mean and make the memory of years spent together like You and you. That desire is what makes the celebration so special. To be together. Together. That's how to celebrate this anniversary time.
That's all for today.
