What is the Cause of Hypertension?

Good Morning Blog. The other day I noticed that my honey gave the salt shaker a nice long shake shake shake. I mentioned that too much salt is not good for him.

My wifely duty, I think. He gave me one of his turned up lip smiles, and replied, it's not one of the things I need to reduce. You see, he has health issues that makes him follow certain eating rules.
In any event, it got me to thinking about salt. Is salt really bad for the body? Or is it a myth? What are the boo boos that result from sprinkling salt on food during cooking and at the table?

It was not that big a surprise to discover that hypertension can result of eating too much salt. HYPERtension. It sounds like something that describes when a person feels stress and tension, but at a super hyper level.

Actually hypertension is high blood pressure. Now, the fog lifts and I see the picture clearly. I have a bit of knowledge about high blood pressure. I am told that when you get closer to retirement age, high blood pressure is something that can pop its ugly head up. But it actually the possibility of high blood pressure affects any age. My doctor said that I am not absolutely going to get hypertension just because I am getting older. But it is possible.

Yes, as I thought. I need to cut back on the amount of salt I shake on my food. I can do this when I cook, but I need to convince my honey that he needs to put that salt shaker down sooner. Exercise helps, too. Why am I surprised.

Food with too much salt, not exercising enough, being overweight. One or all of these can lead to hypertension.
