How to Serve Food that Makes Your Eyes Bug and Pops Your Tongue Out from Anticipation

There's no easy way to say it. If you want to serve food that makes your tongue hang out the side of your mouth from anticipation, you have to be a food artist as well as a good cook.

It can be a challenge, especially for those who had no example at home. They don't teach home economics in school anymore. The way to learn how to cook and present food is to teach yourself. There are good books, perhaps a friend or neighbor, maybe a relative who can offer a few tips. In the end, it's up to you.

I was fortunate that I had my dad. If you don't have a "someone" to help, start with education. I mean don't jump in too quick, learn a few things about cooking, basic cooking utensils, even a few cooking techniques.

Learn about the important of the kitchen knife, and how to use it properly.  Experience chefs, as well as, new home kitchen cooks, know how to boil water, scramble an egg, toast bread. What about seasoning? Blanching and braising? You want to practice how to sauté and sear food. Bake something.

Know cooking basics before you serve food to family and friends. It can make all the difference. You want people to peg you as the one who serves a mouthwatering plate of food. Make 'em beg for more. Make their eyes bug out with anticipation.
