Learning to Cook Lesson 12, Here are Two Secrets to Making Breakfast

Yes, I made coffee and tea the way a professional chef does. Wow! What great know-how, especially for someone who loves these two beverages. That would be me.
The other wonderful demonstration for this lesson is breakfast food. I happen to love oatmeal for breakfast, and I've been making it for years. Wake me up, because in this lesson I learned how to make my morning oatmeal cereal more fun to eat. Who knew that I could make it even better. If you enjoy eating oatmeal, you'll love this lesson. If you never thought of oatmeal in the morning, the ideas are sure to make you a fan.

When my honey is home for breakfast, eggs are the food of choice. He loves scrambled eggs. I prefer basted eggs, which means the eggs are cooked similar to a fried egg but in water instead of oil or butter. But since I'm watching my cholesterol, I go lightly on the eggs, meaning I limit my egg intake to no more than two eggs once a week. Less if possible.

My scrambled eggs
One disagreement I have with Chef is the brown butter. If I use butter to make my eggs, I do not let the butter brown. I keep the heat moderate to low so the butter stays yellow and the food is not stained with brown butter. It's more a matter of personal preference. I noticed on the Internet that many people prefer brown butter eggs. I have a recipe that turns three eggs into absolutely perfect scrambled eggs. DElicious to eat and lovely to look at on the plate.

Speaking of eggs, Chef demonstrated how to make hard boiled eggs. I mastered this years ago, but I enjoyed watching Chef do it his way… which is the same as my way.

In this bite, Chef demonstrated several other ways to make breakfast food. I got lots of ideas and know how. I especially loved the part about breakfast meats because breakfast isn't breakfast for my honey unless I put some meat on his plate along side a couple of eggs, scrambled. That's his favorite breakfast. Mine is pancakes and eggs.
