History. 1775 Break From The Monarchy

According to Military History, 1775 Coloniist represented a wide array of social, economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds.

They included lawyers like John Adams and Alexander Hamilton; planters like Thomas Jefferson and George Mason; merchants like Alexander McDougall and ordinary farmers like Daniel Shays and Joseph Plumb Martin.

These brave men with families were everyday people; neighbors, tradesmen like builders; religious leaders; school teachers and physicians.

In 1775, England’s monarchy claimed the 13 Colonies.

British authorities stepped up their authoritarian behavior. The uniformed military men acted like  bullies burdening Colonists with higher and higher taxes.

Slaves were treated with wanton disregard for the tiniest of human rights: The slaves were disposable “property.”

The people of the 13 British United Colonies rebelled against British control. The Colonists began boycotting, protesting and even rioting over new British laws.

The British government responded by increasing its military presence in the colonies, which only escalated the conflict.

It didn’t take long for the Colonists to become dissatisfied with British abuses. That was the catalyst that motivated the Colonists to defend their life and liberty.

Hardworking family men and women were determined to maintain their freedom from England. It meant standing up for what they wanted, and what they didn’t want  against a determined empire. The risks were high, but that’s what they did.

Declaration of Independence
July 4, 1776, the British colonial settlers declared their Independence from England. By unanimous consent of all 13 Colonies, they announced a complete break with Britain:

They adopted the Declaration of Independence. They wanted a new nation where the people would govern. The people would control their own destiny.

In part. their declaration stated, “when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future ecurity.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies…”

But that wasn’t all.///
