June 2022. America is a republic. That's what our forefathers wanted, preferred
and determined when they adopted the U.S. Constitution of the Republic
for the United States of America.
A republic is a form of
government where power resides in elected individuals representing the
citizen body. Government leaders exercise power according to the people
and rule of law.
The Declaration of Independence establishes a Republican Form of Government guaranteed to every State by the Constitution for the Republic for the United States of America (Article IV, Section 4).
There is a very good reason that our Pledge of Allegiance refers to our country as a Republic and there is a very good reason that our Declaration of Independence and our constitution do not even mention the word "democracy.”
Our Founders knew very well the meaning of the word "democracy." and the history of democracies; and they were deliberately doing everything in their power to prevent having a democracy.
