Holy Frijoles! It's mouth-watering Nachos with Quacamole for dinner delights tonight. My honey decided on Fajitas, which is one of his traditional choices. Put that together with root beer floats and it's off to fiesta land for us. Ole!
Good cookin' and better eaten' makes for a jumpin' jeepers meal, but hey… no worries… it's take-out night. This is just another one of my very favorite meals. Delivery. Ole!
There's only one hitch, and that is my honey -- for some reason that I cannot put my finger on -- well, he does not like food delivered to our door. So, even thought, it's delivery… he has gone to fetch our dinner from our local Tex-Mex restaurant eatery.
One of our favorite add-ons is Tres Leches cake, but we also love to open wide and stuff in Sopaillas, and spoon in heaps of Flan. Only mentioning, blog, because tonight it is rooty tooty floats with creamy scoops.
Since living in cowboy land, here in Texas, I have developed a taste for Tex-Mex. It's different. Yes. Being born and raised in the State of C, Mexican food is Mexican. Here in the South, it has an otherwise Texas coat on. Spices. Ingredients even. For example, I am getting a side dish called a Flauta with tonight's delivery. But… this is mostly just a name change… In the "I'll be back" State, this foody is called a Taquito. It looks the same as the Texas Faluta, sorta. But the name is not the same. [obviously]
I am told that Flautas refer to a flour tortilla that is rolled up around a filling and deep fried. A Taquito is a corn tortilla rolled in a similar fashion with a filling of beef, chicken or cheese and fried until crisp.
But here in the Dallas metroplex, it's corn. So why isn't it called a taquiito? Who can figure it out?
Anyway, I started off craving enchiladas, but after perusing the crumpled up paper white menu stuck in the drawer, I jumped on Nachos. That's tonight.
This morning, I did the deed. I called my local cable company and ordered new Internet service. I got a fab package that included a new digital phone line [as if I even need it.] It was included, so why not.
I was once again investigating, but this really nice guy by the name of Rico simply sweet talked me into everything I needed. Now, that is what I call service. Get this. I saved $125 per month! Can you believe it? What a deal!!! Rico. I am going to remember this fellow for awhile. I mean, consider it. $125 a month savings means I have $1,500 a year to save or find something fun to purchase. Is that cool or what?
I have to make it short, blog. My honey will be returning soon with our dining delight. The cookery is close by… only a mile. Oh, I think I hear the garage door going up. Hmmmm, maybe not. Bailey is not moving. He usually goes crazy when daddy drives the buckboard coach into its house. Oh, there he goes. Dads home. There's his call. "Come and eat honey pete." Don't laugh. That's his personal chant whenever he brings dinner.
[pause]
Bu-we-no (o is not pronouced as ow). Muy Bueno! Mui mui mui. Like a lotta lotta lotta.
Okay, you're right, blog. I paused to heed the call of the dinner bell. I nacho'ed and rooty beer'ed and it was heaven. YUM!
But… I do not discriminate, blog. I love many many meal servings, entrees, snacks and especially desserts. From Mexican to Chinese to Italian. I have a few fab recipes sworn to be kept secret. I have tried and true holiday menus. Indoor picnic multi-course dishes. Banquet selections for special occasions.
People laugh, but my favorite is good food. Any food. Deeelicious and memorable food. Have you watched Guy? [smile]
I love to eat good food. Why do you think I am always on a diet plan, blog? [hah ha hah with a Cheshire cat grin]. One word. Full. Tummy full. Fully. Yes, I'm full. What a meal!
What is your favorite meal?
