JC's Burger House in Allen was our lunch stop in the middle of shopping earlier this week. I'd been there once before about a year ago when sons Steven and Tim treated me. I'd been meaning to tell my honey about the place, but time marched on. Busy Busy Too busy.
Finally, Monday was the day. We parked in front by the welcome sign on the door. I was a bit excited to return and introduce my honey to what I thought was a fresh cooked hamburger good and yummy.
I have been a fan of the Food Network for some time. Have you heard of Guy Fiere's Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives? Well, it's a real fun watch, especially if you like good food but not elegant dinerearyas. [my made up word]
Anyway, when I first walked into JC's place, it instantly reminded me of many dives that Guy visits. Not opulent by any means, but stylized for Allen with sports paraphernalia on the walls. Not crude either. It was the picture of a dive. That's not bad as the reference to dive might sound. Dive per se just means a type of decor, which for JC's fit perfectly. Visit the Cheesecake Factory in Allen if you want tasteful restaurant ambience.
[Yes] I classify JC's as a dive meaning quaint for the dine, not dingy, sleazy or dump. A dive that Guy would likely visit to try the real people cuisine. Simply a good hot spot for family and friends to gather round the cloth not wood tables and chairs to share good food and fun. From the black chalkboard menu mounted on the wall near the front door, I chose the 1/4 pound hamburger lunch special that comes with french fries which I switched out for beer battered onion rings and a tall glass of tea. No sugar needed. Without further ado, let me say, Yummilicious!
What I like best about the food served can be summed up in one word, FRESH. Yea!!! I am so tired of microwave food from McDonalds and the like. I want fresh food please. JC delivers. My meat was as fresh as fresh gets. Grilled perfectly. Hot next to my icy cold lettuce, pickles and fresh sliced tomato. Can I say it again? Yummilicious!
On my next visit and I won't be waiting a year to dine here again, I plan to have the Jalapeno Bites and maybe the Homemade Chili [my mouth is watering] then the Bluebonnet Ice Cream shake, maybe a malt because that brings me back to my Dad's ice cream joint.
If you want a deliCious and Fresh grilled hamburger, you have got to go to JC's Burger House in Allen. It's the real deal and I am guessing you will love the food and the experience. It's located on SE corner of Central 75 and McDermott along the frontage road next to Dixie's. Come casual. T-shirts and jeans. Tennis shoes. Everyday informal.
You can even call ahead to have your order ready to eat when you walk in, or you can take-and-go home. Get the menu at: www.JCsBurgerHouse.com
That's all for today.
