Worst Dog Toys to Beware Of

Hello blog, today Bailey and I were playing with his ball and squeaky cow. He has a basket full of dog toys. Lots! I wondered what the worst dog toys are. Did our Bailey have any dog toys to be aware of???

Here's what I discovered:  Many toys sold in retail stores can be dangerous for dogs if dogs are not supervised while playing with these toys. Many dog toys are really expensive, too. Save money and offer your dog safe toys by making dog toys yourself at home.

Toys can be made at home, purchased or “found”. Make sure you check the toy suits your dog, because a lot of toys bought from supermarkets are small or have some decorations on them that can be destroyed by chewing.

These toys can suffocate your dog, so be careful from where you purchase them! It is highly recommended to throw out or to replace toys which you see that the little components seem to disappear.

Small balls can slip on the teeth of your dog, and once swallowed, small balls can cause the suffocation of your dog! The safest balls for your dog are tennis balls for their size and the textile material that covers these. To suffocate with these tennis balls is almost impossible.

Before you give bones to your dog make sure these are big enough to prevent swallowing the whole. Bones with meat are not a good idea because these tend to break. The best choice is to buy a natural bone, which is specially treated to ensure the safety of your dog.

But don't forget, when your dog chews natural bones, always supervise him! Bones can break, so these can cut the dog inside his mouth or can cause suffocation. If you observe that your dog gives signs of not feeling good, urgently go to the veterinary. Every delay can lead to be fatal!

Toys that have their eyes made of buttons or other small parts that can fall are dangerous for a dog who likes to pull things. Even if the toy is safe for children, the fallen objects from the inside or outside of the toy can cause suffocation, digestive problems or intestinal blockage for your dog!

Be careful what you give to your dog to play with. You have to give him the chance to have fun and to play, but not with toys to beware of!

That's it for today.
